The BabyBjörn Bouncer Bliss was easily one of my favorite baby items—and one of the few things we used enough to justify having two.
We kept one upstairs and one downstairs because it was so helpful to have a familiar place nearby when I needed to put the baby down for a few minutes. It also came with us in the car on road trips because it folds relatively flat and doesn’t require batteries or an outlet.
Why we used it so much
What I appreciated most was its simplicity. It was lightweight enough to move around the house, easy to take with us, and useful during several stages of family life.
When our second baby came home, we could use one as a baby bouncer and reverse the fabric on the other for our toddler. Having one tiny baby and one toddler using their own versions was genuinely fun—and made the purchase feel much more practical over time.
How it handled real-life messes
We chose a light-colored fabric, and I didn’t regret it. The seat cover was easy to remove and wash, even after spit-up and the occasional blowout.
If your baby spits up frequently, I would probably place a burp cloth or thin washable cloth over the fabric during supervised use. That can save you from removing the entire cover every time. Even without doing that consistently, ours cleaned up well.
BabyBjörn says the fabric seat is machine washable at 40°C/100°F and should not be tumble-dried, which matches my experience of it being relatively easy to maintain.
The feature that gave it a longer life
The reversible seat is what really sets it apart for me. It begins as a baby bouncer, but once your child can walk and sit independently, the fabric can be reversed to create a toddler chair.
According to BabyBjörn, the bouncer mode is intended for babies up to 20 pounds or until they begin trying to sit up. The toddler-chair configuration can be used up to 29 pounds once the child can walk and sit without help. Always follow the manufacturer’s current instructions and supervise your child.
What I liked
- Lightweight and easy to move between rooms
- Folds down for travel or storage
- No batteries, charging, or outlet required
- Removable, machine-washable fabric
- Adjustable positions
- Converts into a toddler chair
- Neutral design that didn’t overwhelm the room
- Durable enough for us to use with two children
Things to consider
- It is more expensive than many basic baby bouncers.
- The light fabric can show spit-up before it is washed.
- Some babies may use it for a shorter period than expected before trying to sit up.
- It provides natural movement rather than powered rocking.
A helpful add-on: the Soft Friends toy bar
The BabyBjörn Soft Friends toy bar was a huge help for us, especially at the gym. It gave the baby something to look at and reach for while sitting in the bouncer nearby, and it was easy to attach and remove when we needed it.
Was the BabyBjörn Bouncer Bliss worth it?
For our family, yes.
This wasn’t something that sat untouched in a corner. We used it upstairs, downstairs, on road trips, with two children, and later as a toddler seat. It was easy to clean, easy to move, and simple enough to fit naturally into our routine.
I wouldn’t tell every parent that they need two. But I can honestly say that having two worked incredibly well for us—and the BabyBjörn Bouncer Bliss remains one of the baby purchases I would make again.
